Opportunity Summary 

Medical Assistant 

Tasks:

The student will assist with both clinical and administrative duties under supervision. Clinical tasks will include preparing examination rooms, taking and recording vital signs, obtaining patient histories, assisting during examinations and minor procedures, and ensuring proper infection control practices.

Training:

Students will receive an orientation to learn about clinic policies, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality. The student will observe and shadow a physician and other staff to understand administrative tasks. Training will include taking vital signs, preparing patients, and learning basic office and clinical tasks. Students will receive guidance and feedback from a supervisor to support learning and skill development.

Learning Outcome:

1. Understand scheduling, patient intake, and insurance verification.
2. Improve communication and professionalism in healthcare settings
3. Learn about HIPAA compliance, patient rights, and informed consent.
