Opportunity Summary

Intern – Marketing & Business Operations (Plan Then Execute)
Plan Then Execute is seeking a motivated intern to support marketing execution, reporting, and business operations for home-service clients (plumbing/HVAC). You’ll work closely with our team to help keep projects moving, organize data, and produce real deliverables that impact growth.

What you’ll do:

Assist with content creation and scheduling (social posts, simple graphics, short-form edits)

Help pull and organize performance data (leads, calls, ads, SEO, reviews) and update dashboards/reports

Support website/SEO tasks (basic page updates, on-page checklists, citations/listings support)

Audit online listings and help improve consistency across platforms (Google Business Profile, Yelp, directories)

Help with CRM/admin tasks (tagging, organizing pipelines, documenting notes, basic automations)

Create and update SOPs, checklists, and project documentation

What we’re looking for:

Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented

Comfortable learning new tools quickly (Google Workspace, Canva, spreadsheets; bonus if familiar with ads/analytics)

Strong communication and a “figure it out” mindset

Interest in marketing, operations, and small business growth

Nice to have (not required):

Canva / Adobe basics, CapCut/Premiere basics

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Ads, GoHighLevel, CallRail, WordPress or other marketing platforms

What you’ll gain:

Hands-on experience with real clients and real KPIs

Training in marketing systems, tracking, and operational workflows

Portfolio-ready work and mentorship in a fast-moving agency environment

Tasks:

Create and schedule client marketing assets (social posts, basic graphics, short-form edits) following brand standards.

Pull and organize KPI data (leads, calls, CPL, conversions) and help produce weekly/monthly reports.

Update and maintain Google Sheets dashboards/snapshots to keep metrics accurate and easy to interpret.

Assist with tracking/attribution audits (CallRail, lead sources, UTM consistency) and document findings.

Support website/SEO and online presence tasks (basic on-page updates, listing audits, Google Business Profile support).

Help with CRM organization (tagging, pipeline updates, lead status cleanup) and document workflows/SOPs.

Training:

Students will receive structured training designed to support the learning outcomes and ensure they can contribute quickly and confidently:

Initial employer orientation (mandatory): Overview of Plan Then Execute, client niches (plumbing/HVAC), how we deliver results, expectations, communication norms, time tracking, and professional standards (confidentiality, data handling, client privacy).

Tools + workflow onboarding: Guided setup and training in our core tools (Google Workspace/Drive, ClickUp, Canva, reporting spreadsheets, and relevant marketing platforms such as Google Business Profile, CallRail, and CRM basics as applicable). Includes templates and examples of “good” work.

Job shadowing + guided walkthroughs: Shadow team members during recurring tasks (reporting, content planning, listing audits, CRM updates) and then complete the same tasks with oversight until consistent.

Weekly 1:1 mentor meetings: Scheduled weekly check-ins to review progress, answer questions, give feedback, and set priorities for the next week. Mentorship includes career guidance and skill development.

Work samples + annotated examples: Interns receive past reports, dashboards, audit checklists, and sample deliverables to use as reference standards and to understand quality expectations.

Task contextualization + training briefs: Each assignment includes the “why,” success criteria, deadlines, and a step-by-step checklist/SOP. Interns will be trained to connect each task to business outcomes (leads, conversion, ROI).

Skills workshops/micro-trainings (as needed): Short trainings on topics like marketing fundamentals for home services, basic analytics/attribution, content creation, and SOP building. Includes review quizzes or practical tests to confirm understanding.

Feedback loop + quality control: Deliverables are reviewed with comments and revisions. Interns learn through iteration with clear rubrics for accuracy, clarity, and client-ready presentation.

Learning Outcome:

Execute real marketing deliverables end-to-end (draft content, build simple creative assets, schedule/publish, and track results) while following brand guidelines and deadlines.

Collect, clean, and interpret performance data from platforms like Google Business Profile, Google Ads/Yelp/LSA, and CallRail to support weekly/monthly reporting and ROI discussions.

Build and maintain a basic reporting/dashboard workflow in Google Sheets (or similar) that connects key metrics (leads, calls, bookings, CPL, conversion rates) into a clear snapshot.

Support CRM and automation workflows by applying tags, organizing pipelines, and assisting with simple follow-up automations (e.g., GoHighLevel), improving lead tracking and response consistency.

Document repeatable processes as SOPs by turning tasks into step-by-step checklists that a team can follow to maintain quality and consistency.
