Opportunity Summary 

Odyssey Performance offers a hands-on strength and conditioning internship for individuals pursuing careers in sports performance, kinesiology, or related fields. Interns gain real-world coaching experience with youth, middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes while learning structured programming, athlete assessment, and performance technology. The internship emphasizes professional development, coaching standards, and exposure to the daily operations of a high-performance training facility in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Odyssey Performance is a high-performance strength and conditioning facility in Vista, CA, serving athletes ages 8 through college (plus adult athletes). We are seeking motivated interns who want real coaching experience, strong mentorship, and exposure to how a performance facility operates day-to-day.

Opportunity Training 

Onboarding & Standards Orientation: Facility expectations, safety protocols, coaching standards, and session flow. Coaching Education: How to teach and cue fundamental movement patterns (squat, hinge, push, pull, sprint and jump mechanics). Progressions & Regressions: Adjusting exercises for different ages, abilities, and training ages. Performance Technology Training: Introduction to velocity-based training, timing systems, jump testing, and KPI tracking. Shadowing & Mentorship: Direct observation of experienced coaches, followed by supervised coaching reps. Weekly Education Meetings: Ongoing instruction, feedback, and professional development with Coach Berger.
