Human Movement & Wellness InternAt — Osteostrong Riverside
The Intern will gain hands-on field experience in a wellness setting focused on skeletal health, neuromuscular strength, balance, and human movement. The intern will observe and assist with non-impact osteogenic loading sessions, learn proper body positioning and force application, and support client education related to movement mechanics and bone adaptation. The intern will apply foundational kinesiology principles including biomechanics, joint alignment, neuromuscular activation, and force production in a real-world environment.
Interns will engage in professional, supervised duties that apply academic kinesiology principles in a real-world wellness environment. Tasks are designed to ensure achievement of learning outcomes related to biomechanics, human movement, neuromuscular function, and skeletal health.
Primary Duties (Professional / Pre-Professional):
Observe, assist, and progressively participate in non-impact osteogenic loading sessions with clients under supervision
Apply principles of biomechanics, posture, joint alignment, and force production during guided movement and loading activities
Analyze human movement patterns and provide appropriate verbal and tactile cueing under coach supervision
Assist with balance, stability, and neuromuscular coordination coaching
Support basic client assessments, including posture, balance, and movement readiness
Document session observations and client progress in accordance with center protocols
Participate in educational discussions related to bone adaptation, neuromuscular activation, injury prevention, and longevity
Demonstrate professional communication and client-education skills in a wellness setting
Adhere to safety standards, ethical guidelines, and professional conduct expectations
Secondary Duties (Limited Administrative Support):
Assist with session flow, equipment preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe training environment
Observe wellness operations and client service practices
The majority of internship duties involve direct application of kinesiology concepts and professional client interaction, ensuring the experience is sufficiently complex and appropriate for the awarding of academic credit.
