Opportunity Summary 

Organize and keep clinic stocked, clean and safe for client during their treatments.  Assist in patient safety and supervise established rehab program under supervision of physical therapist. Some clerical duties involving scheduling of patients and pulling treatment cards for next day.

Tasks:

The intern will understand ex program and order for set up and end of treatment with application of certain modalities. Intern will supervise and assist patients with established exercise programs and understand when safety is of concern and discuss possible treatment plan changes with PT.

Training:

Full orientation of company and clinical guidelines and expectations of student. There will be weekly as well as ongoing assessment for learning interactive skills and progression towards goals. Student will incorporate critical thinking.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship the intern will be able to know how to treat patients considering physical and psychological influences. Intern will be able to understand how and why a treatment plan is established based on evaluation findings. Student will help PT anticipate possible changes in rehab and communicate/discuss with PT. Student will be adept at maintaining professionalism within the environment.
