Opportunity Summary 

Segerstrom Center for the Arts' paid internship program offers exciting opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to gain professional experience working side-by-side with administrators, extraordinary artist, and technicians. Interns undertake a variety of projects which provide an enriching professional career experience. Assignments depend upon the qualifications and interests of the intern as well as the specific needs of each department. Segerstrom Center directors and managers provide focused professional supervision to each intern assigned to their departments. Additionally, interns will be able to attend professional development sessions as well as performances, workshops and classes presented at the Center, free of charge (if space is available) throughout their internship. The Center offers academic (for credit) paid internships in both the fall and spring as well as paid (no credit offered) summer internship opportunities. All of Segerstrom Center’s internships are arts administration based.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Learning outcomes include administrative skills (operations, computer applications, etc.) and soft skills related to professional settings.

Opportunity Training 

The intern will receive direct training and support from their supervisor as well as other staff at Segerstrom Center. They will never work a shift alone or without their supervisor present. They will be encouraged to ask questions and develop their internship goals with their supervisor so their work experience is tailored to their interests and abilities.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

This internship requires working at a desk for extending periods of time as well in a classroom setting. Grace will interact with our student population in classes on a weekly basis.
