Marketing InternAt — Providence Healing Studio, LLC
The Social Media Marketing Intern will participate in a structured, educational internship focused on learning foundational principles of social media strategy and digital marketing within a wellness-based small business. The internship emphasizes mentorship, guided practice, reflection, and skill development rather than independent production or account management.
Under close supervision, the intern will assist with social media content planning, drafting, editing practice, and introductory analytics review. The intern will participate in regular mentorship meetings, receive ongoing feedback, and engage in reflective learning activities designed to support professional growth, ethical communication, and transferable marketing skills.
All work is supervised and educational in nature. The intern will not independently manage social media accounts, post content without review, or replace paid staff.
Tasks:
The intern’s duties are professional and pre-professional in nature and may include:
- Assisting with social media content planning and brainstorming under supervision
- Drafting social media captions, visuals, and post concepts for review and feedback
- Practicing content editing and preparation using digital design tools
- Reviewing social media analytics and engagement data for learning purposes
- Conducting light research on social media trends and audience engagement strategies
- Participating in mentorship meetings and reflective learning discussions
- Completing short learning reflections and documenting insights gained during the internship
At least 80% of the intern’s activities involve professional-level learning related to marketing, communications, and digital media. Clerical or administrative tasks are minimal and incidental.
Training:
The intern will receive structured training and mentorship throughout the internship, including:
- Initial orientation covering internship goals, learning objectives, organizational context, ethical marketing considerations, communication expectations, and boundaries
- Weekly or biweekly virtual mentorship meetings to review learning progress, discuss concepts, provide feedback on drafts, and answer questions
- Ongoing guided instruction, including explanation of decision-making processes related to content strategy, tone, audience alignment, and accessibility
- Regular feedback and debriefing, both synchronous (meetings) and asynchronous (written or recorded feedback on drafts)
- Reflective learning activities, including short written or verbal reflections to reinforce learning and professional development
- Training is designed to be supportive, iterative, and educational, ensuring the intern remains the primary beneficiary of the experience.
