Opportunity Summary 

Intern role in the classroom is designed for individuals gaining hands-on experience in early childhood education while developing classroom management, lesson support, and child development skills

Tasks:

Interns will assist lead teachers with daily activities and routine. Help supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and transitions. Support lesson plans, and help keep a safe classroom environment.

Training:

Interns will go through an orientation about our center. Intern will need to complete a mandated training. Training in the classroom will included; Classroom management strategies, Lesson and activity preparation, Child supervision and classroom safety procedures, Classroom routines and daily schedules creating, Emergency procedures and drills, Licensing regulations and school policies, and learning how to help children learn with different learning styles.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of this academic internship, the student will demonstrate understanding of classroom routines and daily schedules, assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, Model respectful and age-appropriate communication, Work collaboratively with lead teachers and staff, Communicate effectively with children, staff, and families, classroom management, and have a grasp on creating activities for each age group.
