Service Areas: San Bernardino, Redlands, Calimesa, and surrounding areas
What We Are Looking For:

  • Show a strong interest in working with kids
  • Have previous experience working with children (preferred)
  • Available in the afternoon/early evening
  • Bilingual skills a plus but not required
  • Must have own reliable transportation, and valid driver’s license, auto registration and auto insurance
  • Proof of immunization records and TB required
  • Background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Work may involve playing with children that can occur on the floor or settings where the furniture is child size
  • Diligently attending to the safety of the child and surroundings is required
  • Quick and sudden movements may be required
  • Sustained physical exertion may be required for up to 45 minutes

Tasks:

1. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
2. Run Skill Acquisition Programs following a specified prompt hierarchy (e.g., least-to-most, most-to-least, errorless, etc.).
3. Data collection (e.g., tracking behaviors, record skill progress in vivo, taking ABC data, etc.).
4. Manage Challenging Behaviors (e.g., de-escalating, redirecting, implementing replacement behaviors, antecedent and/or consequence strategies).
5. Collaborating with Assigned Clinical Team (e.g., receiving and implementing feedback, communicate progress/concerns, etc.).
6. Maintaining Professionalism (e.g., protect confidentially of clients \\HIPPA\\, maintain session notes, communicate appropriate with clinical team and caregivers, follow ethical guidelines, etc.).

Training:

1. Initial Onboarding/Foundational ABA Training (e.g., basics of aba, understanding behavior functions, how to read/implement behavior intervention plans, data collection methods, professionalism and boundaries, confidentiality \\HIPPA\\, and ethics).
2. Safety and Crisis Management Training (e.g., crises prevention, de-escalation techniques, mandated reporter training, etc.).
3. Hands-on/Shadow Training (i.e., shadowing experienced technicians, practicing programs under supervision, receiving live feedback from a BCBA, and role playing scenarios before working independently).
4. Ongoing Supervision & Skill Development (e.g., regular supervision from a BCBA, performance feedback, continued training modules, and case reviews, etc.).
5. Specialized training (e.g., Natural Environment Training \\NET), Discrete Trial Training \\DTT\\, etc.).

Learning Outcome:

1. Develop competency in applying ABA principles (i.e., reinforcement, prompting, shaping, task analysis, behavior functions,) and to apply them consistently and ethically in real-world settings.
2. Improve data collection and data-driven decision making (i.e., becoming proficient in collecting accurate behavioral data and using that information to guide intervention).
3. Enhance behavior intervention implementation skills (i.e., confidence in implementing behavior intervention plans \\BIPS\\ with fidelity, including managing challenging behaviors safely and effectively.).
4. Strengthen communication and collaboration skills. Improve ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining client-centered and culturally responsive practices.
