Mind-Body Wellness Center is a private practice offering integrative psychotherapy focused on anxiety, trauma, identity development, and nervous system regulation. We combine relational therapy with experiential and body-based approaches.
This placement is ideal for students who want exposure to both clinical work and the real world of building a healing practice.

- Workshop/event support
- Editing and organizing therapeutic workbook/book content
- Learning nervous system & somatic-based interventions
- Observing private practice operations

Tasks:
Description of Tasks
The intern will support the operations and outreach efforts of a mental health private practice. Tasks may include:
• Assisting with organization of practice materials and resources
• Drafting and formatting psychoeducational handouts, guides, and client resources
• Supporting creation of newsletters, blog posts, and educational social media content
• Helping prepare workshops, events, and community presentations
• Participating in professional networking and outreach activities
• Editing and organizing written materials such as workbooks or educational content
• Assisting with basic marketing and branding projects
• Maintaining professional communication via email and scheduling systems
• Attending supervision meetings and completing assigned learning projects
Tasks are educational in nature and completed under supervision, with increasing independence as skills develop
Training:
Training will include:
• Orientation to practice workflow, scheduling systems, and client communication procedures
• Instruction in professional documentation standards and ethical handling of protected information
• Guidance in creating psychoeducational resources for clients and the community (handouts, newsletters, workshops, and digital content)
• Instruction in responsible and ethical mental health social media communication
• Participation in community outreach and professional networking activities
• Exposure to marketing strategies, branding, and program development within a healthcare practice
• Collaborative editing and organization of therapeutic written materials (workbooks, guides, and educational resources)
• Education on professional boundaries, scope of role, and ethical considerations in a non-clinical support position
Weekly supervision will include discussion of projects, professional development, and questions related to the business and operational aspects of running a practice
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to: 1. Understand the structure and day-to-day operations of a private mental health practice, including scheduling, workflow, and client communication systems. 2. Create and present clear psychoeducational mental health content for the community through written, digital, or social media formats. 3. Demonstrate professional communication skills through networking, outreach, and collaboration with community providers. 4. Assist in developing practice materials such as workshops, resources, and written content (e.g., handouts, workbooks, or educational materials). 5. Identify foundational business and ethical considerations involved in building and maintaining a professional practice.
