General Volunteer At — California Wolf Center
CWC volunteers have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most misunderstood predators in the world. assisting with tours, educating the public, and potentially assisting with veterinary care under the supervision of experienced professionals.
Accepted applicants will gain experience in conservation education, public speaking, and wolf husbandry. This is an excellent way to pad your resume with some wildlife and conservation experience.
Our training is very fluid; we get volunteers in for varied periods of time, and we train according to time served and frequency of volunteering. Some folks will learn quicker than others, but it is heavily based on your commitment. We have had volunteers in enclosures and assisting with wolf care in as little as a month, and volunteers who have been with us for years who have never entered an enclosure.
We lift heavy items, traverse rough and uneven terrain, we work outdoors in the elements, and we enter enclosures with large predators. You must be able to safely perform those essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
