Opportunity Summary 

The Marketing Operations Intern will work directly with leadership to execute marketing strategies that increase enrollment, event attendance, brand visibility, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities

Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms

Film, edit, and produce short-form video content (Reels, behind-the-scenes, athlete highlights)

Capture on-site training sessions, learning center activities, and special events

Write compelling captions aligned with Inland Peak’s brand voice

Monitor engagement metrics and recommend improvements

Assist in launching promotional campaigns for programs, camps, events, and enrollment drives

Support email and text message marketing campaigns

Help develop promotional graphics, flyers, and digital assets

Coordinate campaign calendars and track performance

Highlight athlete success stories and testimonials

Showcase the learning center model and movement-based education approach

Support brand consistency across platforms

Training:

This internship is structured to provide supervised, hands-on professional experience that integrates marketing theory with applied business practice in alignment with CSUF College of Business experiential learning standards.

Orientation & Organizational Context
The intern will complete a mandatory employer orientation that introduces the organization’s mission, service model, target markets, competitive positioning, and current marketing strategy. The intern will receive training on brand standards, digital platforms, campaign workflows, and performance expectations to ensure role clarity and strategic alignment.

Supervision & Structured Feedback
The intern will be directly supervised by the Marketing Director. Weekly one-on-one meetings will provide structured feedback, performance evaluation, and discussion connecting classroom concepts (e.g., consumer behavior, integrated marketing communications, digital analytics, brand management) to active marketing initiatives. Learning objectives and performance benchmarks will be reviewed regularly.

Application of Marketing Principles
The intern will actively apply marketing frameworks learned at CSUF, including:

Market segmentation and target audience analysis

Brand positioning and messaging strategy

Digital marketing campaign development

Data analytics and performance measurement

Customer engagement strategy

Assignments will include clearly defined business objectives and measurable KPIs to reinforce data-driven decision-making.

Professional Skill Development
Training will include practical instruction in:

Social media content development and digital storytelling

Email and SMS campaign execution

Marketing analytics and reporting

Campaign calendar planning and operational workflow management

Experiential & Cross-Functional Exposure
The intern will engage in job shadowing across departments to understand service delivery, customer experience, and operational alignment, ensuring marketing initiatives reflect organizational objectives and customer needs.

Portfolio & Assessment
The intern will produce professional marketing deliverables (campaigns, reports, digital assets) suitable for academic and professional portfolio inclusion. Performance will be evaluated based on initiative, strategic thinking, execution quality, and measurable marketing outcomes.
