Job Description – DIY Jewelry Workshop Assistant

The DIY Jewelry Workshop Assistant will support daily studio operations and assist with hands-on jewelry production tasks. Responsibilities include:

•Polishing and finishing jewelry pieces using different materials, including detailed refinement and surface finishing

•Assisting with metal preparation, cutting, and material handling for workshop projects

•Preparing packaging and organizing finished pieces for customers

•Maintaining studio cleanliness, tool organization, and assisting with general workspace upkeep

Tasks:

Description of Tasks
The intern will assist with professional studio production and workshop support duties designed to develop technical jewelry-making skills and an understanding of creative studio operations. Tasks include: • Assisting with jewelry finishing processes such as polishing, sanding, and surface refinement under supervision • Preparing and handling metal materials for workshop use, including measuring, cutting, and organizing fabrication supplies • Supporting workshop preparation by organizing tools, packaging materials, and customer project components • Observing and assisting during DIY jewelry sessions to understand workflow, safety practices, and instructional structure • Maintaining studio organization standards, including tool management and workspace preparation as part of professional studio operations • Participating in guided practice to develop efficiency, attention to detail, and production workflow awareness
These duties are structured to provide hands-on technical experience while introducing the intern to real-world jewelry studio practices and creative production environments.

Training:

Students will receive structured hands-on training and mentorship throughout the placement, including: • Initial studio orientation covering safety procedures, tool usage, and workflow expectations • Guided demonstrations on polishing, finishing, and basic metal preparation techniques • Shadowing experienced instructors during DIY jewelry workshops to observe teaching methods and studio operations • Weekly feedback and mentoring sessions to review progress and skill development • Training on packaging standards, material handling, and studio organization practices • Access to sample projects and supervised practice to build technical confidence
