Want to make a difference in someone's life? Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites, and job development for individuals seeking employment in the Central Orange County area.

\n

Tasks:

\n

Employment Coach will support each person through a personalized support plan to work towards their employment goals. This can be achieved through the discovery process, where the employment coach will learn about the person’s goals, skills and strengths, and utilizes that information in the job development journey to help the person apply for positions, prepare for interviews, and follow up with potential employers. Additionally, if it is identified as beneficial for the person’s employment goals, Employment Coach can also explore with the person on incorporating volunteer or school activities to broaden their employment skillset. If a person were to obtain employment, Employment Coach could provide on-the-job support, where she would support the individual at their employment site and provide support through navigating social interactions with colleagues, learning new tasks, and implanting natural supports when possible.

Employment Coaches submit documentation on a daily basis, which outlines the supports and goals that were worked on for the day, as well as details of the level of support they have provided, ranging from modeling tasks to implementing natural supports. Employment Coach is responsible for reporting any changes or concerns to their Support Manager to ensure the person served is receiving follow up support or adjustments to their personalized plans if needed. Additionally, Employment Coach can be scheduled to receive field site visits by their Lead and Supervisor to ensure quality service delivery, and ongoing support to Employment Coach for any questions that may arise.

Training:

\n

Ongoing access to speak with supervisor (Support Manager) for feedback and guidance. Participate in scheduled staff trainings to review support techniques and guidance, platform review, expectation review, tools and resources, and upcoming training opportunities. Lead coaches can be scheduled time to overlap and provide mentorship and guidance as needed and available.

\n

Learning Outcome:

\n

1. Provide person centered supports focused on each individual's support needs, identify strengths, and work towards tailored goals.
2. Provide job development support focused on strengthening the person served's employment goals.
3. Access community resources to identify ways to expand a person's skillset including creating a schedule of productive activities, job development, submitting applications and following up with potential employers.
