Service-Learning InternAt — Uplift Charity
Service-Learning Interns at Uplift Charity will support refugee, immigrant, and low-income families through community-based, trauma-informed service. Interns will work alongside staff to assist with case management support, resource navigation, community outreach, and administrative tasks that directly contribute to family stability and empowerment.
Responsibilities may include assisting with client intakes, organizing and distributing emergency assistance (food, hygiene items, school supplies), supporting documentation and follow-up for housing, healthcare, and employment resources, and participating in outreach, research, or community events. Interns may also assist with data entry, program organization, and reflective learning activities tied to their academic coursework.
This service-learning opportunity emphasizes ethical engagement, cultural humility, and experiential learning. Interns will gain exposure to real-world social service systems, refugee resettlement challenges, and community advocacy while developing empathy, professional skills, and a deeper understanding of social inequities.
Training and supervision will be provided.
