Opportunity Summary 

We are seeking a researcher who is part data-analyst and part digital-anthropologist with music production experience to map the evolving Sonic Identities of the Pacific Rim. This internship focuses on the \\Diaspora Bridge\\—how the musical tastes and cultural habits of multicultural youth in the U.S. influence, and are influenced by, the emerging creative scenes in Southeast Asia and the broader East Asia Pacific.

You will evaluate the commercial viability of these cultural intersections, identifying where music relationships can be monetized through synchronization, brand partnerships, and digital consumption.

Tasks:

Producing bi-weekly briefings on \\Emerging Sonic Identities\\ and digital subculture shifts.
Translating complex social media metrics and DSP data into clear reports on commercial opportunity.
Submitting a weekly 1-page \\Transpacific Brief\\ every Friday detailing the \\Sound of the Week,\\ a subculture pulse summary, and a commercial pitch for a sync placement.
Creating a Sonic Profile for high-growth production hubs, including Hanoi/Saigon, Jarkata, Bangkok, and Manila.
Applying the Music Discovery Validation Framework to trending artists to test for \\clearability,\\ engagement-to-buy ratios, and identity fit.

Training:

Provide direct mentorship from analysts experienced in international operations and global media markets.
Utilize a structured Onboarding Guide that identifies \\Day 1\\ targets for digital ethnography and trend validation.
Guide the intern through \\Underground\\ discovery hubs (Discord servers, TikTok hashtags, and private Facebook groups) to monitor conversations before they hit mainstream charts

Learning Outcome:

Map evolving Sonic Identities of the Pacific Rim by identifying specific \\sound signatures\\ migrating from SEA production hubs into Western digital spaces.
Evaluate the commercial viability of cultural intersections to identify where music relationships can be monetized through synchronization, brand partnerships, and digital consumption.
Conduct virtual ethnography and subculture tracking in niche digital communities (Discord, TikTok, etc.) to monitor how micro-trends evolve within multicultural youth subcultures.
