Students will receive a structured onboarding and hands-on training experience designed to set them up for success in a hospitality marketing environment. Training will include an overview of Portola Hotel & Spa’s brand standards, marketing strategies, and guest experience philosophy. Interns will be introduced to key marketing tools and platforms used by the organization, including social media management systems, content planning tools, and basic analytics dashboards. They will also receive guidance on content creation, brand voice, and visual standards to ensure consistency across all marketing channels. Ongoing mentorship will be provided by the marketing team, including regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and project-based learning opportunities. Interns will also gain cross-departmental exposure by working alongside operations, food & beverage, and events teams to better understand how marketing supports overall business objectives. Students will be working in a professional hotel environment and must adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures. This includes general safety awareness in public and operational areas, proper use of office equipment, and following guidelines when accessing back-of-house spaces. Interns will receive an overview of emergency procedures, including evacuation protocols. While the role is primarily administrative/marketing-based, students may occasionally be present in active hotel areas and should remain aware of their surroundings at all times.
