Opportunity Summary 

The intern will spend a 12\u2011week term working on high\u2011impact projects within a corporate headquarters department in the manufacturing industry. Interns operate in a fast\u2011paced, innovative environment and serve as active contributors to day\u2011to\u2011day business operations. Throughout the internship, the student will collaborate cross\u2011functionally, support research and analysis efforts, and apply a continuous improvement mindset to real business challenges.

The intern will gain hands\u2011on exposure to department operations, participate in decision\u2011making support through research and analysis, and receive opportunities to independently evaluate problems and propose solutions. The role emphasizes professional communication, teamwork, planning, and problem\u2011solving. The internship culminates in a formal presentation to department leadership summarizing project work, outcomes, and key learnings.

Tasks:

Professional / Pre\u2011Professional Duties

Work cross\u2011functionally with internal teams to support and complete high\u2011impact projects.
Conduct research and analysis on new and existing initiatives to support major decision\u2011making.
Identify problems or inefficiencies and develop proposed solutions using a continuous improvement mindset.
Attend department meetings, capture feedback, and create action plans based on discussion outcomes.
Collaborate with team members across multiple organizational levels to gather information and align project goals.
Prepare reports, documentation, and professional presentations summarizing work performed and results achieved.
Develop and deliver a final presentation outlining internship experience, project contributions, and outcomes.

Training:

Orientation and Onboarding:
Initial orientation covering company policies, safety practices, workplace expectations, and department operations.
Introduction to role responsibilities, project expectations, and key stakeholders.
Training on tools, systems, and documentation relevant to assigned projects.

Ongoing Training and Feedback:
Regular weekly check\u2011ins with the intern’s supervisor to review progress, provide guidance, and discuss learning objectives.
Participation in department meetings with actionable feedback and follow\u2011up responsibilities.
Ongoing mentorship from experienced team members, including exposure to cross\u2011functional partners to broaden operational understanding.
Periodic informal feedback provided throughout project milestones to reinforce strengths and address development areas.

Evaluation and Reflection:
Mid\u2011internship and end\u2011of\u2011internship feedback discussions focused on skill development and professional growth.
Final project presentation to department leadership to demonstrate learning outcomes and practical impact.
