Theatre InternAt — OTIC Theatre Collective
Interns at Mockingbird Improv will develop fundamental management skills, enhance their theater knowledge, and contribute to production planning and marketing efforts. Through active participation in workshops and planning, they will improve communication, teamwork, and adaptability, gaining valuable experience in the dynamic world of improvisational theater. Duration and Schedule: This program is designed to last an entire semester. It can be adapted to fit any schedule especially if there is a focus in one area over the others. Front of House is Thur - Sun 6:30 - 10 pm. Administrative and Marketing can be any agreed-upon hours
Maintenance Team: Theater upkeep, cleaning, and basic repairs. Concessions Team: Handling concessions, inventory management, and customer service. Marketing Team: Creating promotional materials, running social media accounts, and assisting in marketing campaigns. Front of House (FOH) Team: Managing customer interactions, ticket sales, and ushering. Technical Team: Learning and assisting with sound and lighting operations.
Orientation: Conduct an orientation session covering the theater's history, mission, and organizational structure. Technical Training: Provide hands-on training on technical aspects such as sound and lighting operations. Mentorship: Assign mentors from different departments to guide and support interns throughout their program.
To excel in an internship at Mockingbird Improv, a candidate needs a blend of creative flair, operational discipline, and "people person" energy. Because the role rotates through five distinct departments, adaptability is the most critical overarching trait.
