Foothill Family Shelter

Organization Description

The mission of Foothill Family Shelter is to assure families a future by helping them acquire skills that will enable them to maintain a home and job and, at the same time, develop the necessary self-esteem to function as a successful, stable family.

Health & Safety

We help anyone in the community who needs housing/food assistance and is part of our service area

Regarding an emergency plan, we currently have a new Associate Director who is working on developing and updating a comprehensive plan. So while it is not yet finalized, it is actively in progress. In the meantime, we do have safety measures in place. For example, there is an emergency button at the front desk that can be used to alert police assistance if needed, particularly in situations where interns or front desk staff may require support. Thankfully, we have not any issues so far, but it is in place as a precaution. Additionally, staff are always present and available to provide assistance if needed.

We are a small nonprofit with a limited staff, and I oversee most of our volunteers and interns. Because of this, I can only supervise a certain number of volunteers at a time.
