Programming InternAt — Color Compton

We are seeking a passionate Program Intern to support the Color Compton team in managing office projects, assisting with outreach efforts, and building community relationships. This internship is designed for university students seeking hands-on experience while earning academic credit. This is an exciting time to join Color Compton as we continue to grow and strengthen our programming and community impact.

Tasks:

Assist with planning and facilitating workshops and community programs
Support administrative tasks including data entry, scheduling, and communication
Help organize and maintain program materials and supplies
Participate in outreach efforts and community engagement activities

Training:

The intern will receive an initial orientation covering organizational practices and expectations. The intern will participate in weekly check-ins with their supervisor to review progress, receive feedback, and set goals. Additional mentorship will be provided through team meetings, debrief sessions after events, and shadowing opportunities with staff during programming.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:

Assist in planning and executing community-based arts programming
Demonstrate effective communication and community engagement skills
Apply organizational and administrative practices in a nonprofit setting
