Opportunity Summary 

Eagles Canyon Raceway (ECR) is looking for a motivated Track Operations Assistant Manager Intern to support daily track activities, event operations, and member experiences. This is a hands\u2011on motorsports internship ideal for students interested in racing operations, event management, or automotive performance environments.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with daily track setup, pit lane flow, and paddock organization.
- Support Race Control, timing, and on\u2011track safety procedures
- Help run HPDE events, member days, and private rentals
- Manage check\u2011in, waivers, and customer questions
- Coordinate with instructors, corner workers, and operations staff
- Maintain equipment, radios, and operational supplies

Tasks:

During the internship, students will perform a range of professional and pre\u2011professional duties that directly support track operations, event management, safety coordination, and customer experience at Eagles Canyon Raceway. These tasks are designed to demonstrate mastery of operational procedures, communication skills, problem\u2011solving, and leadership competencies.

Track & Event Operations (Primary Duties – 80%+)
Assist in daily track setup and teardown, including configuring cones, barriers, flag stations, pit lane, and paddock layouts according to event requirements.

Support Race Control operations by monitoring radio communications, tracking session flow, logging incidents, and assisting with timing and scoring procedures.

Manage grid and pit lane flow, ensuring drivers are staged correctly, run groups transition smoothly, and safety protocols are followed.

Conduct on\u2011track condition checks, including surface inspections, debris monitoring, and reporting hazards to Race Control.

Assist with incident response under supervision, including flagging, communication, documentation, and coordinating with safety personnel.

Coordinate with instructors, corner workers, and event staff to ensure operational readiness and smooth execution of HPDE events, member days, and private rentals.

Perform operational documentation, including incident reports, equipment logs, daily checklists, and event summaries.

Manage operational equipment, such as radios, flags, fire extinguishers, cones, and timing devices, ensuring proper function and readiness.

Customer & Member Services (Professional Interaction Duties)

Support participant check\u2011in and registration, including waiver verification, wristband distribution, and schedule explanation.

Provide customer guidance on track rules, safety expectations, paddock etiquette, and event flow.

Assist with hospitality functions, ensuring a positive experience for members, guests, and corporate clients.

Administrative & Planning Tasks

Assist with event scheduling and logistics, including run\u2011group planning, equipment allocation, and operational timelines.

Participate in operational improvement projects, such as updating procedures, refining safety protocols, or improving facility workflows.

Contribute to data tracking, including attendance logs, session timing data, and operational metrics used for post\u2011event analysis.

Professional Development Tasks

Engage in weekly mentorship meetings to review performance, discuss operational challenges, and set learning goals.

Participate in job shadowing across Race Control, operations management, and event coordination roles to gain a holistic understanding of track operations.

Apply learned procedures independently, demonstrating growth in decision\u2011making, communication, and operational leadership.

Training:

Students in the Track Operations Assistant Manager – Summer 2026 Internship at Eagles Canyon Raceway will receive structured, hands\u2011on training designed to build competency in motorsports operations, safety procedures, customer service, and event management. Training includes:

1. General Orientation (Mandatory)
Introduction to Eagles Canyon Raceway, mission, safety culture, and organizational structure

Review of workplace policies, emergency procedures, and track\u2011specific safety protocols

Facility tour covering Race Control, paddock, pit lane, grid, and corner\u2011worker stations

2. Job Shadowing & On\u2011Track Operations Training
Shadowing the Track Operations Manager, Race Control, and corner workers

Observing session flow, communication systems, flagging procedures, and incident response

Guided practice in track setup, pit lane management, and paddock organization

3. Weekly One\u2011on\u2011One Mentor Meetings
Scheduled check\u2011ins with the Track Operations Manager

Review of weekly performance, learning goals, and operational challenges
