PIO InternAt — City of Huntington Beach

Student internship in the City Manager's Office working with the Public Information Office (PIO) team. This program manages website content updates, social media, live broadcasts, multimedia projects, press releases, newsletters, and graphic design.

Tasks:

The intern will asssist with the following:

Website content update
Graphic design
Social media post generation
Generate content for press releases, newsletters, etc.

Training

Day 1 training - City Manager Department SOPs & PIO team meeting
Day 2 - Shadow each PIO team member for 1-2 hours each to learn more about their roles
Day 3 - review City Branding Guide, ADA Digital WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Day 4 - PIO team meeting to review current projects and make assignments to intern
Note - the PIO team is committed to hold a team meeting with the intern every 2 weeks to review projects
