Opportunity Summary 

\u2060\u2060\u2060\u2060\u2060\u2060\u2060Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple audit assignments in Real Estate, Construction, Nonprofit, Manufacturing and many more industries

  • Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, quality control standards and technology implementation procedures relative to individual client assignments

  • Participate in client assignments from beginning to end

  • Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters and improvement opportunities with senior associates, managers and partners to resolve client issues discovered during the audit process

  • Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships

  • Pledge to provide exceptional service to every client by providing individual attention, responsiveness and commitment to understanding their goals and needs

  • Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred

  • Active participation in student organizations or work experience in accounting or a related field 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software

Tasks:

- Prepared and reviewed federal and state tax returns for individuals and business entities across multiple industries.
- Assisted with tax compliance work including IRS notices, audits, trust returns, and estate and gift tax filings.
- Supported client engagements by organizing documentation, communicating with clients, and ensuring timely completion of assignments.

Training:

- Trained on federal and state tax return preparation for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations using firm software tools.
- Received instruction on tax compliance processes, including IRS audits, notice response, and trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
- Shadowed tax professionals to learn engagement workflows, client communication, and firm procedures from planning through completion.

Learning Outcome:

- Developed a working understanding of federal and state tax compliance for individuals and business entities across industries such as real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing.
- Strengthened technical tax and analytical skills through exposure to tax return preparation, IRS notices, audits, and compliance processes.
- Improved professional communication and client service abilities while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards.
