Toddler TeacherAt — Great Foundations Montessori
Prepares a nurturing, orderly environment for ages 18 months to 3 years. Fosters independence, concentration, and social-environment development. Plan and present age-appropriate lessons that allow children to learn at their own pace. Support daily routines including self-feeding, toileting, diapering, nap times, and cleaning. Observe individual children to meet their developmental, emotional, and social needs by acting as a guide.
Tasks:
1. The student will supervise and care for toddlers during daily classroom routines, including playtime, meals, naps, and transitions.
2. Plan and lead age-appropriate learning activities that promote toddler cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional development.
3. Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to prepare lesson materials, organize classroom activities, and support individualized learning experiences.
4. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and mentor feedback sessions to strengthen teaching practices and professional development.
5. Use positive behavior guidance technique to encourage cooperation, communication, and emotional regulation.
Training:
The student will receive an initial orientation covering workplace policies, safety procedures, classroom expectations, and childcare guidelines. Training will include classroom observation, job shadowing experienced toddler teachers, and weekly mentor meetings for feedback and support. The student will also learn lesson planning, classroom management, behavior guidance, child development practices, and communication with families while gaining hands-on experience in creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
