Fusion Climb is seeking a Business Systems & Data Operations Intern for a 70% database-focused role. You will be responsible for the \\source of truth\\ in our company—our Odoo ERP system. You will ensure our customer and product data (specifically for life-safety gear like carabiners and buckles) is accurate, deduplicated, and technically complete. This is an on-site only position at our Chino headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Systems & Odoo Strategy (70% of role)
- CRM Optimization: Execute a massive cleanup of our customer database—identifying, merging, and normalizing duplicate records for government and wholesale accounts.
- Technical Product Enrichment: Rigorously update our digital catalog. You will verify and input critical technical specs such as gate opening (mm), material type, and breaking strength (kN).
- Quality Control Audit: Cross-reference physical product samples in the warehouse with digital records in Odoo to ensure 100% accuracy for safety certifications.
- Import/Export Management: Build and test CSV templates to mass-upload corrected data into Odoo, troubleshooting mapping errors.
2. General Office & Sales Admin (30% of role)
- Contract Support: Assist in the assembly of bid packages and quotes for government agencies.
- Operations Support: Assist the Office Manager with filing, document scanning, and organizing safety compliance certificates.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in weekly ops meetings to report on database progress and system improvements.

Requirements
- On-Site: Must be able to work at our office in Chino, CA.
- Tech Savvy: Intermediate Excel skills are a must (sorting, filtering, basic formulas).
- Detail Obsessed: Since we manufacture safety gear, \\close enough\\ isn't an option. Accuracy is the #1 priority.
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Business, IT, or Operations program (Fuller College or similar).
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 8–15 hours per week (Flexible, Mon-Fri within 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
- Compensation: Unpaid. We provide formal supervision, midterm/final evaluations, and reference letters for college credit.
Task:
Description of Tasks:
The student will perform structured, project-based tasks focused on business systems, data management, and operations support.
Primary duties (approx. 70–80%) include:
Clean, standardize, and deduplicate customer records using Microsoft Excel and import/export tools from Odoo and QuickBooks
Audit and enrich product catalog data in Odoo, including verifying and inputting technical specifications (e.g., gate opening in mm, material, strength in kN, certifications)
Develop and maintain structured price lists in Excel, ensuring alignment with Odoo and QuickBooks data
Perform cross-system data validation to identify discrepancies between Excel, Odoo, and QuickBooks, and implement corrections
Prepare and test CSV import templates for bulk data updates in Odoo, resolving formatting and mapping errors
Conduct quality control checks by referencing vendor datasheets and physical product samples
Secondary duties (approx. 20–30%) include:
Assist with preparation of quotes and bid documents using validated product and pricing data
Support document organization, including product specifications and compliance records
Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
As a final deliverable, the student will compile their work into a cleaned database, updated price list, and a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlining processes for ongoing data maintenance and system accuracy.
Training:
Training Provided:
The student will begin with a mandatory general orientation covering company operations, safety protocols, and professional workflows.
To support the learning outcomes, the student will receive specialized system training on Microsoft Excel (data cleansing/VLOOKUP), Odoo ERP, and QuickBooks, including guided walkthroughs of customer, product, and price list management.
Continuous learning will be supported through:
Weekly one-on-one mentor meetings with the Office Manager to review data accuracy and provide performance feedback.
Job shadowing with the sales and operations teams to contextualize how database records (SKUs, kN strengths, pricing) impact real-world quotes and bids.
Structured resources, including technical spec sheets, training manuals, and previous work samples for reference.
SOP Development guidance, where the student will be trained to document their processes into a formal business procedure.
This hands-on approach ensures the student transitions from supervised task-execution to independent project management over the course of the internship.

The student will be able to perform advanced data cleansing, deduplication, and normalization using Microsoft Excel (e.g., filters, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, PivotTables) while working with exported data from Odoo and QuickBooks, ensuring consistency and accuracy across multiple systems.
Manage and Enrich Technical Product Data in Odoo
The student will be able to audit and enhance a product catalog within Odoo by accurately inputting and validating technical specifications for safety equipment (e.g., gate opening in mm, material, strength in kN, certifications), using vendor datasheets and physical product verification.
Develop and Maintain Structured Price Lists Across Platforms
The student will be able to create, clean, and maintain structured price lists using Excel, and align pricing data between Odoo and QuickBooks, ensuring consistency across product SKUs, customer tiers (e.g., wholesale/government), and quote preparation processes.
Perform Cross-System Quality Control and Data Validation
The student will be able to conduct cross-checks between Odoo, QuickBooks, and Excel datasets to identify discrepancies in customer records, product details, and pricing, and implement corrections to maintain a reliable “source of truth.”
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Data & System Management
The student will be able to develop a clear, professional SOP outlining workflows for data entry, product setup, price list updates, and ongoing database maintenance across Excel, Odoo, and QuickBooks.
