Software and Design InternAt — IDA by Maestro
IDA by Maestro is a global interior design awards platform connecting designers, vendors, and homeowners worldwide. The Software and Design Intern will work directly with the founding team across engineering, design, and platform growth. Responsibilities include:
UI/UX Design and Platform Enhancement: Design and improve user-facing flows across the contestant submission portal, voting and rating interfaces, and winner showcase pages using Figma; implement responsive front-end updates in Next.js and React.
Graphic Design and Visual Brand Assets: Create contest promotional materials, social media graphics for Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook, badge and award imagery, and platform UI assets aligned with the IDA by Maestro brand.
AI Automation and Workflow Integration: Design and implement AI-powered automation pipelines for submission intake processing, automated contest notification emails, jury scoring workflows, and winner announcement generation using LLM APIs.
Full-Stack Feature Development: Contribute to new platform features including submission management, filtering and search enhancements, and leaderboard functionality using Next.js, React, and Node.js.
AWS Cloud Infrastructure Support: Assist in deployment and optimization of platform services on AWS including S3 asset management, CloudFront CDN configuration, and staging and production environment management.
Data and Engagement Analytics: Build dashboards and scripts to track platform KPIs such as submission volume, voting engagement, and user growth to inform product decisions.
Digital Marketing Automation: Develop and maintain HTML email campaigns and automated drip sequences targeting designers, vendors, and homeowners with UTM tracking and performance analytics.
Tasks:
Redesign and improve UX flows on the contestant submission portal and voting interface using Figma
Implement front-end updates in Next.js and React across designer, vendor, and consumer portals
Create social media graphics, award badge assets, and promotional materials for the platform
Build AI automation pipelines for submission intake, jury workflows, and notification emails using LLM APIs
Assist in AWS infrastructure tasks including S3 media management and CloudFront CDN configuration
Build KPI dashboards tracking submission volume, voting engagement, and user growth
Develop and deploy HTML email campaigns with UTM tracking targeting designers, vendors, and homeowners
Training:
The intern will receive an initial orientation covering platform architecture, brand guidelines, internal tools, and team workflows. Weekly one-on-one meetings with the supervisor will be held to review progress, set goals, and provide mentorship. The intern will receive ongoing feedback on all design and development deliverables through collaborative review sessions. Access to relevant tools, software subscriptions, and documentation will be provided from day one. The supervisor will debrief the intern at the end of each project milestone to reinforce learning outcomes.

Operate effectively in a startup environment managing multiple cross-functional responsibilities simultaneously
