College Internship - CommunicationsAt — Sacramento Republic FC
Through a Communications Internship, participants will gain valuable insight into how a sports franchise and full-service communications team works. Interns will receive first-hand experience across multiple communications disciplines, while also observing professionals at work. In the end, the intern will support the club’s communications goals, practice skills applicable beyond the sports landscape, and help prepare for a successful transition into entry-level employment.
Tasks:
(1) Develop and manage media lists.
(2) Support game preparation through data review.
(3) Write match content and supporting website materials.
(4) Interview players, coaches, and executives.
(5) Work with members of the regional media sports Corp.
(6) Utilize content production tools.
Training:
General employee orientation, department-specific orientation, regular check-ins with manager and communications VP, provision of work samples, task assignment/tracking through a project management tool and creates a streamlined process for task competition, job shadowing (including opportunities to support other departments as desired by intern)
Learning Outcome:
(1) Develop a comprehensive external awareness campaign.
(2) Write for various audiences, with a concentration on media.
(3) Create undisputed data sets to support rhetoric in writing/campaigns.
(4) Identify, develop, and pitch storylines to staff, partners, and external media - with support.
