Opportunity Summary 

Student Engineer will have the opportunity to preform real work Electrical Engineering design under LADWP service rules

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Student should have a clear understanding of fundamental to utilize in the power system. Student will be able to navigate real world project and help them acquire a job with a utility company after competition of school

Opportunity Training 

Haley will be trained on power system fundamentals. As a Student Engineer, she will be provided with assignments to review and complete customer power requests for EV (Electric Vehicle) Service Design Group. The work required to complete her assignments will consist of organizing project files for management, reviewing electrical plans (including Electrical Load Schedules and one-line electrical diagrams), and evaluating LADWP electrical equipment to ensure the existing power system can handle the new electrical demand. Additionally, she will conduct site walks to verify electrical equipment, interact with customers as needed, and present her findings to secure confirmation to proceed with the requested work."

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Student Engineer will be provide PPE for on site inspection of electrical equipment
