Opportunity Summary 

Visual Storytelling: Translate a manuscript into a cohesive visual sequence, ensuring images are engaging enough for children

Character Design: Develop consistent, expressive character profiles (including physical traits, clothing, and emotions)

Collaboration: Partner closely with authors, art directors, and editors to align with the book's vision, tone, and pacing.

Layout & Composition: Plan the placement of illustrations around text blocks by creating thumbnails and storyboards.

Research: Gather reference materials to accurately depict settings, time periods, or specific objects.

Final Rendering: Execute artwork

Training:

-General employer/designer orientation
-Daily, weekly and bi-weekly one-on-on mentor meetings
-Discussions and advanced learning about market research and successful marketing plans for publishing
-Tips on sketching out options for clients and publishers
-Training and understanding of the publishing industry

Learning Outcome:

1. Have the opportunity to continue the adventures of creating characters for a new audience
2. Earn a living as an illustrator and also use their own creations.
