Interested in how stories shape public opinion and policy? As a Public Affairs Intern, you will gain hands\u2011on experience supporting real client work while learning how public affairs, communications, and marketing come together.In this entry\u2011level role, you will work closely with account executives and our agency team to support day\u2011to\u2011day public affairs and public relations initiatives. From assisting with event coordination to supporting communications, marketing, and advertising efforts, you will gain valuable exposure to the fast\u2011paced world of agency life and make a meaningful impact along the way.This internship is ideal for someone eager to learn, collaborate, and grow in the fields of public affairs, communications, and advocacy.

Task:
• Preparing account service-related documents such as:
o Meeting or board agendas, meeting reports and board minutes
o Client communications and correspondence
o Participating in and documenting discussions during client meetings and conference calls
• Creating Content & Copy
o Prepare & draft press releases, op-eds, newsletters, scripts, briefing materials, and other written content to effectively communicate a client’s key messages in the public domain
o Conduct in-depth research on policy issues, key stakeholders, and legislative developments to support strategic communication goals
• Fielding and processing internal information requests
• Assisting with mailing and advertising
• Implementing Social media strategies
o Draft copy for content calendars
o Schedule posts following the approval of a content calendar
o Coordinate graphic design needs throughout agency team
• Maintaining current work-in-progress records and archives of past project information as appropriate

Each intern completes a simple, semester\u2011long capstone project designed to support professional growth and prepare you for future applications and interviews. Built into the internship experience, the project helps you create practical, polished materials you can confidently use beyond the program.
By the end of the internship, you will have an elevator pitch, a short professional bio, headshots, and a curated portfolio, all developed gradually with guidance and feedback.

Develop clear and effective written communications tailored to public affairs audiences, including press materials and policy\u2011focused messaging
Analyze policy issues, stakeholder landscapes, and legislative developments to support strategic communication recommendations
Apply foundational principles of public affairs and public relations in a client services environment
Contribute to integrated communication strategies across media, digital platforms, and community engagement efforts
