Community Resources Coordinator InternAt — Quick Produce LLC

Quick Produce Distributors, LLC, is a produce distribution company seeking a human resources and community services intern to support our community outreach and human services efforts. The intern will work directly with local food banks, churches, and other community organizations to help coordinate food donations, assist those in need, and strengthen our ties with the surrounding community. The intern will also provide general HR support as needed. This is an in-person position that offers meaningful hands-on experience serving people and partnering with organizations that make a real difference. Applicants should be currently enrolled in a human resources, social services, or related degree program.

Tasks:

-Coordinate with local food banks, churches, and community organizations to schedule and facilitate produce donation drop-offs and pickups
-Conduct needs assessments by communicating with community partners to identify gaps in food access and resource availability
-Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, donation quantities, and partner organization contacts to track community impact
-Assist in developing and drafting outreach materials, correspondence, and communication plans for community partners
-Research and identify new community organizations, nonprofits, and social service agencies to expand the company's outreach network
-Participate in community events and food distribution efforts, providing direct assistance to individuals and families in need
-Prepare written summaries and reports documenting outreach outcomes, partnership progress, and recommendations for improvement
-Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of current community service initiatives and propose strategies to strengthen organizational impact
-Support HR functions as needed, including maintaining internal records and assisting with staff-related communications relevant to community programs

Training:

The student will begin with a general employer orientation to become familiar with Quick Produce Distributors' operations, mission, and community partnerships. They will receive an overview and contextualization of all assigned tasks before beginning any responsibilities. Throughout the placement, the student will participate in weekly one-on-one mentor meetings with their site supervisor to discuss progress, address questions, and reflect on learning. The student will also engage in job shadowing to observe how the organization coordinates with food banks and community organizations firsthand. As needed, the student will be provided with relevant training materials and work samples to support their understanding of human services practices in a real-world setting.
