Opportunity Summary 

The Communications Clerk Intern will support marketing, communications, community outreach, and resident engagement initiatives across a multifamily housing portfolio. The intern will assist with developing marketing materials, maintaining online property listings, coordinating digital media projects, supporting Fair Housing outreach efforts, and creating communication resources for current and prospective residents.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, community engagement, vendor coordination, reputation management, website content administration, and housing industry communications. Projects will involve collaboration with property management teams, marketing vendors, community organizations, and internal departments.

The position provides exposure to professional communication strategies, digital marketing platforms, community outreach programs, fair housing compliance initiatives, brand management, and multifamily housing operations.

Tasks:

Create and update marketing materials for apartment communities and resident programs.
Develop resident-facing guides, informational materials, and communication campaigns.
Maintain and optimize online property listings across Zillow and other listing platforms.
Create and manage listing templates and marketing content.
Support social media marketing initiatives and content development.
Manage and update Google Business Profiles and other online business listings.
Assist with online reputation management, review monitoring, and resident engagement efforts.
Coordinate photography, videography, floor plan creation, and 3D virtual tour projects with external vendors.
Schedule and coordinate marketing-related vendor services and deliverables.
Support implementation of Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans and community outreach initiatives.
Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, housing resource centers, and local partners.
Assist with website content reviews, updates, and quality assurance.
Research market trends, outreach opportunities, and communication strategies.
Track marketing project progress and prepare status updates and reports.
Collaborate with property management and corporate teams on resident communication initiatives.
Assist with development of promotional materials for company programs and services.

Training:

To help the intern achieve the proposed learning outcomes, JK Residential Services Inc. will provide:
Initial orientation covering company operations, workplace expectations, communication standards, fair housing requirements, and organizational policies.
Hands-on training in Zillow, Yardi, Google Business Profile, Facebook Business Manager, Canva, RentCafe, Homestyler, Microsoft Office, and other marketing and communication platforms utilized by the organization.
Direct mentorship from the Information Systems Analyst through regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings to review projects, provide feedback, and discuss professional development.
Job shadowing opportunities involving marketing initiatives, community outreach efforts, vendor coordination, website management, and resident communication projects.
Ongoing coaching regarding digital marketing strategies, fair housing marketing requirements, content development, reputation management, and project coordination.
Review of completed work products with constructive feedback and guidance throughout the internship experience.
Participation in planning meetings, project reviews, and collaborative discussions with property management and corporate teams.

Learning Outcomes:

Develop and deliver professional marketing and communication materials for residents, prospective residents, and community partners.
Apply digital marketing principles across online listing services, social media platforms, website content, and reputation management tools.
Coordinate marketing projects with vendors, property teams, and external stakeholders while managing timelines and deliverables.
