Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software applications using C#, .NET,
or similar technologies.
• Support the development of RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Write, debug, and optimize code to ensure performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, bug fixing, and troubleshooting issues.
• Work with SQL Server to write queries and support data operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) in an Agile
environment.
• Contribute to technical documentation and follow coding best practices.
Tasks:
The student will:
Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of a unified software application that combines multiple internal projects into one centralized platform
Help design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, allowing the different modules to communicate within the centralized software
Using version control tools such as Git to manage code databases and support team collaboration
Contribute to technical documentation for software features and APIs, allowing the student to learn clear documentation writing skills
Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Product team members in a professional software development environment
Test application features ensuring they function properly and meet project standards
Training:
The student will shadow higher position programmers with one-on-one meetings weekly, allowing them to understand industry standard coding practices. They will also learn important skills like C# development, .NET, RESTful API development, backend services, and application maintenance. Agile development practices will be used weekly ensuring the student gains an understanding of proper communication skills in a collaborative software development environment.
Learning Outcome:
The student will be able to collaborate between different teams in an Agile environment.
The student will be able to ensure proper coding practices used in an industry standard, while being able to debug code efficiently.
The student will be able to gain exposure to previous backend documentation and improve on existing databases
