Opportunity Summary 

  • Assist teachers with small-group and individual student instruction.
  • Support students during classroom activities, intervention periods, and enrichment lessons.
  • Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
  • Help organize and maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and school activities as assigned.
  • Assist with attendance, classroom organization, and basic clerical tasks.
  • Encourage positive student behavior consistent with school expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, teamwork, and effective communication with staff and students.
  • Perform other duties related to supporting student learning as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator.

Training:

Throughout the internship, the student will receive structured, hands-on training that includes:
School policies, safety procedures, and professional expectations.
Classroom management techniques and positive behavior supports.
Effective communication with students, teachers, and school staff.
Instructional support strategies for individuals and small groups.
Preparation and organization of classroom materials.
Student supervision during classroom transitions and school activities.
Confidentiality requirements and ethical responsibilities in education.
Time management, teamwork, and workplace professionalism.
Observation of experienced educators followed by progressively increased responsibilities.
