Fall 2026 Internship/Volunteer with OCHCAAt — Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA)

The County of Orange Health Care Agency (OCHCA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to creating and supporting an environment that promotes the achievement of optimal individual, family and community health. The Behavioral Health Services Division consists of eight (8) service areas. This Division provides a culturally competent and client-centered system of behavioral health services for all eligible county residents in need of treatment for alcohol and other drug abuse and mental health care.  

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in behavioral health and health care administration, providing exposure to real-world projects and tasks that impact the community. 

Under supervision of an OCHCA site supervisor, the intern will provide assistance and
support within the different departments of OCHCA.

Tasks:

* Collect information, data, and records to electronic registration system
* Run reports and monitoring compliance data for Medi-Cal billing requirements 
* Answer phone calls and provide customer service
* Greet and assist customers or attendees during outreach events
* Research on State regulations
* Support with audits and assist with report writing and reviewal of corrective action plans
* Community outreach and education
* Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Training

Students will be required to attend monthly training designed to enhance professional communication, professional conduct, professionalism in the workplace, and knowledge about behavioral health services. Student interns will be required to completed required training with OCHCA as well.
Shadowing site supervisor and will vary depending on site location.
