Stonehurst STEAM Magent Elementary - LAUSDAt — Stonehurst Avenue Elementary School - LAUSD
Hi! I’m the principal at Stonehurst STEAM Magnet, and we’re looking for a CSUN student who’s passionate about robotics to help support our elementary program. Our students are incredibly curious and excited about coding, building, and problem-solving, but we’re looking for someone who can bring that next level of energy and expertise to really grow the program. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with students, lead small groups, and make a real impact in a school community that values innovation and leadership. You’d be helping build skills that go far beyond robotics—teamwork, confidence, and creativity. If you’re interested in inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators, we’d love to have you join us!
By the end of the experience, they’ll have built real-world skills in teaching, leadership, and program design. They’ll learn how to break down complex robotics and coding concepts for younger students, manage small groups, and adapt instruction to different learning styles. They’ll also gain experience planning engaging, hands-on lessons and troubleshooting in a live classroom setting. Beyond the technical side, they’ll strengthen communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, while building confidence as a leader. Most importantly, they’ll walk away knowing they made a meaningful impact by inspiring and supporting the next generation of innovators.
Our teachers will work alongside you to support and guide the training of students, helping ensure lessons are engaging, structured, and aligned to student needs.
Students should never be in the Robotics room alone with elementary students.
They will need to fill out a volunteer application with LAUSD.
