Opportunity Summary 

Intern will support the firm’s bookkeeping work for individual and small business clients, gaining hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and real-world accounting workflows under direct supervision of the firm owner/CPA.

Input of bank and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online, Reconciling accounts in QuickBooks; assisting with data entry and categorization; reviewing management reports for accuracy under supervision; preparation of information requests; assistance with daily administrative tasks.

Initial orientation on firm procedures, client confidentiality, and QuickBooks Online setup and utilization. Weekly one-on-one check-ins to review completed work, answer questions, and provide feedback.

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to: (1) perform routine bookkeeping tasks in QuickBooks Online including expense categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations and self-review of management reports (3) understand client-facing communication and workpaper documentation standards in a small CPA practice and (3) understand the daily administrative tasks that face a small business owner
