Student Teaching AssistantAt — CSUSM Department of Kinesiology
This undergraduate teaching assistant opportunity allows students to support the instruction of a Kinesiology Movement Anatomy course while strengthening their knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and movement. The teaching assistant will work closely with the course instructor to help students understand anatomical structures and apply concepts related to muscles, joints, and human movement.
By the end of this opportunity, students may develop a deeper understanding of functional anatomy, biomechanics, and human movement through teaching and application of course concepts. Students may strengthen their ability to identify and explain anatomical structures, muscle actions, joint movements, and their roles in functional movement. They may also develop communication, leadership, mentorship, and teaching skills by assisting peers and explaining complex concepts in an accessible manner. Additionally, students may gain experience facilitating group learning, answering questions, demonstrating movement concepts, and collaborating with faculty and students in an academic setting. These skills can provide valuable preparation for graduate study and careers in kinesiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, medicine, and other health-related fields.
The student lab assistant will have had already taken the undergraduate Movement Anatomy class (KINE 305). The student will also have to have good standing in the kinesiology department.
