APARC Communications and Graphic Design Student AssistantAt — CSUF - Asian Pacific American Resource Center

The Communications and Graphic Design Student Assistant supports the
department by designing graphics, developing marketing materials, and managing
social media content that promotes its programs, events, initiatives, and services.
Through culturally responsive, engaging, and strategically distributed content, this
role strengthens the department’s visibility and increases student awareness,
participation, and connection across campus.

Learning Outcomes  

By the end of this internship, the student will be able to gain more knowledge in time managing social media creation, posts, and planning. Student will learn more about event marketing, different advertising skills, and gaining knowledge on how to make graphics appealing to the demographic of students on our social media platforms. They will also develop stronger collaboration and communication skills by working closely with team members on campaign strategies and content planning.

Training  

To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will provide hands-on training through guided social media content creation, conduct weekly one-on-one check-ins to offer feedback and assess progress, and assign real-time projects related to event promotion and marketing strategies. I will also facilitate shadowing opportunities during planning meetings to enhance their understanding of team collaboration, and offer access to design tools and tutorials to strengthen their graphic design skills.

Tasks/Duties  

The intern will demonstrate the learning outcomes by creating and scheduling weekly social media posts aligned with marketing goals, assisting in the planning and promotion of events through digital platforms, designing graphics tailored to student demographics, contributing ideas during content strategy meetings, and tracking engagement analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
