Education Intern/Practicum - Early Childhood & ElementaryAt — Kingston Academy

Kingston Academy is seeking Early Childhood and Elementary Education Interns to support students in a welcoming, student-centered learning environment. Under the guidance of the Center Director and teachers, interns will apply their academic knowledge through lesson planning, supervised instructional activities, student observation, and reflective practice.

This internship provides practical experience with developmentally appropriate instruction, classroom management, differentiated learning, professional communication, and educational assessment. Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, professional, and passionate about helping students learn and grow.

Tasks:

• Plan and adapt age-appropriate lessons and educational activities under the supervisor’s guidance.

• Facilitate supervised small-group and individual learning activities.

• Apply developmentally appropriate teaching and classroom-management strategies.

• Observe student participation and progress and maintain appropriate educational documentation.

• Help evaluate learning activities and recommend adjustments based on student needs.

• Participate in mentoring meetings, training, staff discussions, and reflective learning activities.

• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized, safe learning environment.

Training:

The intern will receive an initial orientation covering Kingston Academy’s mission, workplace expectations, confidentiality, child safety, emergency procedures, professional conduct, and mandated-reporting procedures.

The intern will observe experienced educators, receive demonstrations and examples of instructional practices, and receive guidance before leading activities. The supervisor will hold regular individual mentoring meetings to review assignments, answer questions, provide feedback, and discuss progress toward the learning outcomes. Formal feedback will also be provided during the midpoint and final evaluations.
