Position: Marketing & Content Intern
Industry: Automotive / Technology / Digital Marketplace
Location: Orange County, California

For the college-credit requirement, emphasize strategy, production, analysis, and project ownership rather than basic administrative work.

Students will perform professional and pre-professional marketing, content production, and digital media duties designed to apply academic concepts in a real-world business environment. Duties will include:

1. **Content Strategy and Planning:** Develop content concepts and assist in creating weekly and monthly marketing plans based on company objectives, target audiences, automotive trends, and platform-specific strategies.

2. **Videography and Photography:** Plan and produce professional photo and video content featuring vehicles, company operations, automotive events, and promotional campaigns. Students will apply principles of composition, lighting, framing, audio, and visual storytelling.

3. **Video Editing and Post-Production:** Edit short-form and promotional video content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms, including selecting footage, sequencing clips, adding text or graphics, adjusting audio, and preparing final content for publication.

4. **Digital and Social Media Marketing:** Develop platform-specific posts, captions, campaigns, and promotional materials while applying branding, audience targeting, communication, and digital marketing principles.

5. **Brand Development:** Assist in developing and maintaining The Motor Block's visual identity, brand voice, messaging, and content standards across digital channels and marketing materials.

6. **Market and Competitor Research:** Research automotive marketplaces, automotive media, social media trends, competitors, target audiences, and emerging content formats. Students will summarize findings and recommend opportunities for improving marketing and content strategy.

7. **Marketing Analytics and Performance Evaluation:** Review available social media and digital marketing performance metrics, including reach, engagement, views, audience response, and content performance. Students will use this information to identify trends and recommend improvements to future content.

8. **Campaign Development:** Participate in the development and execution of marketing campaigns for vehicle listings, automotive events, auctions, company initiatives, and brand awareness efforts. Students will assist with projects from initial concept through production, publication, and performance review.

9. **Creative Project Management:** Manage assigned content projects through the complete production process, including research, concept development, planning, production, editing, supervisor review, revisions, publication, and evaluation.

10. **Professional Collaboration and Presentation:** Participate in marketing discussions and weekly mentor meetings, present creative concepts and research findings, receive professional feedback, make revisions, and explain the reasoning behind marketing and creative decisions.

More than 80% of the student's internship responsibilities will consist of professional or pre-professional marketing, digital media, research, content production, analytical, and project-based activities. Routine clerical or administrative duties will be limited and incidental to the student's educational experience.

Training:

Use this for the **Training Required** section:

Students will receive structured, hands-on training throughout the internship to support their development in marketing, videography, content creation, and professional business practices.

**Initial Employer Orientation:** During the first week, students will receive an orientation covering company operations, workplace expectations, communication procedures, internship responsibilities, safety practices, brand standards, and an overview of the automotive industry and The Motor Block's business model.

**Marketing and Brand Training:** Students will be introduced to the company's target audience, brand identity, marketing objectives, social media strategy, and content standards. Examples of effective and ineffective marketing materials will be reviewed to help students understand professional brand consistency.

**Videography and Content Production Training:** Students will receive hands-on instruction in planning video concepts, camera and smartphone filming techniques, lighting, framing, audio, automotive photography, short-form video production, and basic editing. Training will include demonstrations followed by supervised practice.

**Software and Platform Training:** Students will receive instruction on relevant editing, design, and social media tools used by the company. This may include CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital marketing platforms applicable to assigned projects.

**Job Shadowing and Supervised Projects:** Students will initially observe the supervisor during content creation, vehicle marketing, social media planning, and other marketing activities. Responsibilities will gradually increase as students demonstrate competency. New assignments will include an explanation of the project's purpose, target audience, expected outcome, and connection to the company's broader marketing strategy.

**Weekly Mentor Meetings and Feedback:** Students will participate in a scheduled one-on-one meeting with their supervisor each week to review completed work, discuss performance, address questions, evaluate progress toward learning objectives, and establish goals for the following week. Students will receive specific feedback on their videos, photographs, marketing concepts, and other work products.

**Work Samples and Skill Development:** Students will be provided with examples of previous or professional marketing materials to analyze and use as references. As the internship progresses, students will complete increasingly independent projects from initial concept and planning through production, editing, supervisor review, revision, and final publication.
