5th Grade Teacher InternAt — St. Joseph School Placentia

A dedicated and enthusiastic 5th Grade Teacher responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where students are challenged academically and encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Plans and delivers standards-based instruction across core subject areas while adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.

Tasks:

Assist the teacher with daily classroom routines and procedures; help prepare materials, copies, and resources for lessons; support students during independent and group work; reinforce classroom expectations and procedures under the teacher's direction; help supervise students during classroom activities; assist with grading or checking assignments; observe classroom instruction and classroom management strategies; learn how lesson planning and assessments are implemented

Training:

Orientation. job shadowing, meetings with the mentor, classroom tasks, classroom & academic support, classroom management, teacher assistance

Learning Outcome:

Understanding how teachers support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of upper-elementary students through classroom management, instruction, and positive teacher-student relationships.
