\uf0b7 Oversee Kinder – 8th grade students during before and after school program

\uf0b7 Work with ASP Director to create fun and engaging activities for students

\uf0b7 Prior experience working with school age children is preferred

\uf0b7 Actively engage in the supervision of children in your area of responsibility ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care

Tasks:

1. Observe
The intern observes experienced ASP staff and learns routines, expectations, supervision techniques, and behavior-management strategies.

2. Assist
The intern begins participating in activities and student supervision while working directly alongside an experienced staff member.

3. Lead with Supervision
The intern plans and leads activities and takes increasing responsibility for a group of students while the ASP Director or designated staff member remains available and provides feedback.

4. Demonstrate Competency
The intern independently demonstrates the required skills while continuing to work within the school's supervision and staffing requirements.

Ongoing Supervision

I would also require a weekly 10–15 minute check-in with the ASP Director. This gives the intern an opportunity to discuss:

What went well
Challenges with students
Activities they led
Safety or behavior concerns
Questions they have
Skills they are developing
Goals for the following week
