Organization Description

Since the mid-1850s, the Tulare County superintendent of schools has worked directly with the school districts in the county to provide support and guidance for their operations. In California, county superintendents provide assistance to districts in their counties through staff development and training programs related to new curriculum and instructional procedures; support for new teachers through Teacher Induction Programs; business services; credentialing and teacher recruitment; and technology. Policy determinations regarding individual school districts are made by the district superintendents and their locally-elected school boards.

The mission of the Tulare County Office of Education is to provide quality service and support to the students and school districts of Tulare County. This is achieved by promoting lifelong learning opportunities that will help individuals lead healthy and productive lives. We are dedicated to work in a collaborative manner with students, parents, school districts, public agencies and communities to prepare students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
