Exhibit Design Support (for ACES' upcoming Asian Cultural Fair) - Asian Cultural Experience of SalinasAt — Asian Cultural Experience of Salinas (ACES)
Priority given to Museum Studies students.
Gain hands-on experience in the exhibit design process, from research and concept development through production, installation, and final presentation. Assist Asian Cultural Experience of Salinas (ACES) in designing our next exhibit opening at the Salinas Asian Cultural Fair next spring! ACES needs service learners to help with:
- the development of exhibition concepts, layouts, and visitor experiences
- participate in team meetings and contribute ideas related to guest experience, accessibility, storytelling, and visual communication
- prototype exhibit design/concepts
5 service learner spots.
There will be in-person and online training on exhibit design, data collection, and writing evaluations. We will also guide students on preparing exhibit materials (if we hold a pop-up exhibit) and surveys in the ACE office in Salinas Chinatown. Some of the training may be done online.
Salinas Chinatown is a neighborhood in Salinas known for blight and where the unhoused community in Salinas is concentrated. City of Salinas is taking steps to revitalize the neighborhood.
