Department of Journalism & Public Relations

The department offers undergraduate programs that prepare students for careers in journalism, public relations and other media, editorial and storytelling-related industries. It is home to more than 30 full- and part-time faculty members and close to 600 majors and minors. Its programs are accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications and include: a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, a Minor in Journalism and a Minor in Public Relations. The CSULB campus is located in the heart of internship- and opportunity-rich Southern California, 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, 15 miles west of Disneyland and minutes from the Pacific Ocean.
