Physical Therapy AideAt — Avanti Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine

The Physical Therapy Aide assists the physical therapy team with the day-to-day operations of an outpatient physical therapy clinic. The aide is responsible for preparing treatment areas, assisting with patient flow, maintaining equipment and clinic cleanliness, and providing support to physical therapists and. The Physical Therapy Aide works under the direction and supervision of licensed clinical staff and does not independently perform evaluations, make clinical decisions, or modify patient treatment plans.

Tasks:

The employee is responsible for:

• Treating patients and staff with professionalism.
• Transporting patients, records, equipment and supplies.
• Preparing patients for treatment and aide as needed.
• Keeping treatment area and equipment clean and neat.
• Being compliant with HIPAA laws and regulations.
• Following administrative policies and procedures related to emergency procedure, infection control and safety.
• Maintaining current knowledge of company and facility policies and procedures.
• Accommodating schedule changes to meet facility needs.
• Performing special duties as assigned for the need of the facility/company (i.e., covering front office, answering phones, scheduling patients, etc.)

Training:

The new aide is onboarded by the owner, clinic director and office manager. The aide is given a packet of commonly given exercises. He/she trains one on one with the clinic director and/or office manager. When clinic director and/or office manager believe the aide is ready to help patients with exercises, the aide initiates the exercises with the patient while the supervisor shadows.

3. Correctly set up and put away equipment and understand reasoning behind using certain equipment.
