DESCRIPTION: This is an opportunity to work with Square Tree Publishing & Productions and our fiction division, Lore & Legacy Press. We are seeking a creative and resourceful intern who can help develop and create cinematic book trailers for our fiction authors.

\n

The intern will work with our team to take the heart, characters, conflict, and atmosphere of a novel and translate them into compelling short-form video trailers designed to make readers want to discover the story.

\n

Projects may include 30–60 second book trailers using video footage, AI-generated imagery and video, motion graphics, typography, music, sound effects, and voice-over.

\n

Square Tree Publishing is a faith-based company that believes our authors' messages matter, and we want to help bring those messages and stories to the world.

\n

Our fiction imprint, Lore & Legacy Press, publishes redemptive fiction across genres including fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, mystery, suspense, thriller, romance, and dystopian fiction. Our tagline is, Write Dangerously. Redeem Fiercely.

\n

Our authors have incredible stories, and we're looking for someone who loves the challenge of taking a story from the written page and bringing it to life visually.

\n

YOU: Strong desire to learn the ins and outs of video production, editing, cinematic storytelling, and book marketing. Creative eye for story, pacing, emotion, music, and visual composition. Ability to take a written concept and translate it into a compelling visual story. Ability to handle multiple projects while paying close attention to detail is a must. Ability to work as a member of a team, receive creative feedback, and carry out assignments.

\n

Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut is preferred.

\n

Experience with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, motion graphics, sound design, or color grading is a plus.

\n

Experience with AI filmmaking and image-generation tools such as Runway, Kling, Google Veo, Sora, Midjourney, or similar platforms is a huge plus.

\n

You do not need experience with every program listed. We are looking for someone with strong creative instincts, an understanding of storytelling, and a desire to grow as a video creator.

\n

The internship will provide a context for the student to gain practical experience and build his or her portfolio. The intern will have the opportunity to create actual promotional book trailers for fiction authors and learn how written intellectual property is translated into visual marketing.

\n

Ideally, the intern should have a working knowledge of video editing and basic storytelling principles. Experience creating short films, movie trailers, book trailers, social media videos, or other cinematic content is preferred but not required.

\n

The intern will learn how to identify the strongest elements of a story, develop a trailer concept, select or create appropriate visual assets, and combine video, music, sound, voice-over, and typography to create an engaging finished trailer.

\n

The internship hours can be flexible to class and work schedules. However, the intern will be expected to complete assigned work and be accountable to commitments. Internship will include an estimated 8 per week or more. Candidates should be dependable, reliable, creative, and enthusiastic. Candidates should demonstrate initiative and commitment.
