Kanor Driving School is offering a structured academic internship focused on driver education, instructional methodology, student communication, safety procedures, and driving school operations. The intern will work under the supervision of experienced staff and instructors while learning how professional driver-training programs are organized and delivered.

Responsibilities may include observing instructional techniques, assisting with lesson preparation and educational materials, reviewing student progress and instructional feedback, learning California driver-safety and DMV preparation standards, assisting with appropriate administrative and scheduling activities, and participating in supervised discussions regarding student development and safe-driving practices.

The internship is designed to provide professional and pre-professional experience in education, training, communication, customer service, safety, organization, and instructional program operations. The intern will not independently perform duties requiring a professional license or certification unless appropriately licensed and authorized.

The intern will observe professional driving instructors and learn how student driving skills and progress are evaluated. Duties may include assisting with lesson preparation and educational materials, reviewing driver-safety and DMV preparation concepts, participating in supervised pre-lesson and post-lesson discussions, assisting with student-progress documentation, observing scheduling and instructor coordination, supporting appropriate administrative projects, researching driver-education topics, and helping develop educational and safety resources. The intern will also participate in regular meetings with the supervisor to discuss observations, progress, and professional development. More than 80% of internship activities will be professional or pre-professional in nature.

The internship will begin with an orientation covering Kanor Driving School operations, workplace expectations, safety procedures, student confidentiality, professional communication, and the responsibilities of the intern. The intern will receive direct supervision from experienced staff and instructors through observation, demonstrations, guided practice, and discussion of real-world situations. The supervisor will provide ongoing verbal feedback and regular check-ins to review progress, answer questions, discuss completed assignments, and identify areas for improvement. When appropriate, post-activity debriefings will be used to discuss instructional techniques, student performance, safety considerations, and professional development.

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
Explain the basic operations of a professional driving school, including scheduling, student services, instructor coordination, and driver-training procedures.
Identify and explain key driver-training and safety concepts, including traffic observation, blind-spot checks, lane positioning, speed control, stopping procedures, turning, parking, and defensive-driving techniques.
Demonstrate professional communication skills when interacting with students, parents, instructors, and administrative staff.
Assist with evaluating student progress and preparing constructive instructional feedback under the supervision of experienced staff.
Apply professional standards related to safety, organization, customer service, confidentiality, and workplace responsibility.
